Funding received: £8000 plus £5 per pupils aged 5-11 years old = £8,720    

Background:

In April 2013, the Government announced new funding of £150 million for Physical Education (PE) and sport.This funding should be used to improve the quality and breadth of PE and Sport provision. The funding is for the period September 2015 to August 2016.This funding is ring fenced to be used for sport specific areas to make an impact in Physical Education and Sport in schools.

Schools are free to determine how best to use this funding to improve the quality and breadth of PE and Sport provision, including increasing participation in PE and Sport so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels they are capable of.

During the academic year September 2015 to July 2016 we plan to spend our funding in the following areas:

Purchasing outdoor sports equipment

Buying into the Premier Sport Package

Offering sporting activities at lunchtimes

Offering free after school sporting activities

Employing a PE specialist to team teach alongside teaching assistants to raise standards within Physical Education and Sport.

To raise the quality of teaching in Physical Education and Sport. Develop knowledge, skills and confidence to teach the whole child through sport. To increase pupil participation and range of inclusive activities.

Purchasing equipment to enhance the teaching of outdoor PE.

Each child to have access to the appropriate equipment for outdoor PE which will in time improve performance.

To raise the quality of lunchtime provision. Develop knowledge, skills and confidence of the whole child through sport. To increase pupil participation and range of inclusive activities.
