Italian Day in Octavia class
Octavia class had a wonderful Italian day yesterday. Children boarded a plane to Rome and had the experience of using their 'boarding pass' and a complimentary drink on board the Italian airline. Once in 'Rome' (back in the classroom) we then made Italian Focaccia bread where children then were able to choose their own toping. Children also designed and made their own Venetian masks, similar to ones found in the Carnival of Venice.
Children had a wonderful time and were able to share their creations with their family members who were able to come to the family cafe. In this we shared the guided reading text we have been learning about and then recreated one of the illustrations within the book on the erupting Mount Vesuvius.
