Octavia class at the Fitzwilliam Museum
Today Octavia class have been on their school trip to the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge. We had a fabulous time there. We learnt about the lid of the Sarcophagus from the Pharaoh Ramses III, which is in the museum. We also had the chance to see a real life mummy, which the children found very interesting, especially when our guide told us the mummy had been through a scanner at the nearest hospital Addenbrooke's. In the afternoon we also had an opportunity to feel and paint on Papyrus, a type of reed that was used in the Ancient Egyptian time to write and paint on, this reed grows near the River Nile.
