2019-2020 Autumn: Kings and Queens
A royal welcome awaits inside the magnificent entrance of Godfrey Class which is fit for a King! We are ready to enjoy a fantastic feast inside our castle. Take a look at the photos of our learning environment below.
Week commencing 9th September
A royal visit to Sandringham House was an exciting way to launch our first topic of Kings and Queens. The children thoroughly enjoyed their day! The asked carefully thought out questions and came away with lots of new knowledge about the royal family. Estate staff and members of the public commented on their wonderful behaviour!
This week we have also written recounts of our trip, developed our understanding of tens and ones within a 2-digit number, explored different materials within the classroom and produced some wonderful sunflower paintings! Within provision, we have been problem solvers, critical thinkers, explorers and great communicators! See photos below for a snapshot of our independent learning.
The boys worked together with sustained concentration and perseverance to design a new cannon for Queen Elizabeth!
Taking maths outdoors to find the missing number!
Observational paintings of sunflowers using a range of colours and brush strokes.
Risk taking within a safe environment during our Forest School session!
We also held our first 'Stay and Play' session where we welcomed parents and carers to share their children's learning environment.
