Pioneers are brave and adventurous,  exploring space, oceans and lands. They are the first to try something new and prepare the way for others to follow! 

This term year 5 will be learning about The Space Race between the USA and Russia before landing back on Earth to study a famous explorer, Earnest Shakleton.
